Challenge: When the contracted architect firms were in the process of designing the new Westminster Law Library, library officials from the University of Denver highlighted that fixed library shelving was a major concern with the library’s yearly growing book collection.
Objective: The librarians of Westminster Law Library wanted to economically optimize the library space for its actual storage needs and for the projected 10-year book collection growth.
Solution: Wanting to improve the University of Denver’s library space organization and storage needs in order to serve its student community adequately, Montel proposed a custom-design high-density mobile library shelving solution that was ADA compliant.

Product Description
The following Montel high-density mobile solution was installed:
- Montel Mobilex high-density mobile storage system;
- Montel Aetnastak cantilever library shelving;
- An exact 20” deep footprint on a quarter of the shelving units;
- Enclosed tube connected frames preventing books to be inserted leading to potential volume damage;
- Welded-frame uprights providing strength and additional rigidity;
- Fourth-bend shelf construction increasing strength and eliminating sharp edges.
