Emergency and Crisis Mgt. Prioritizing, Providing and Preparedness for Libraries

Libraries are in one of the most vulnerable positions for emergencies and crises, from natural disasters to acts of violence. Unfortunately, most library staff are not formally trained in emergency preparedness or crises until after a crisis occurred or the library itself is inconsistent in its demands to be trained. Emergencies are not clear-cut and unique challenges arise, from damage to resources or patrons confiding with you about personal matters. This webinar will teach you how to prepare your library to handle various crises and other emergency services through formation of policies and training.

In this webinar you will learn how to:

•    Delineate between emergency and crisis at various levels

•    Identify best policies and practices for emergency manuals

•    Implement plans and responses in the moment and after the crises
