Communicating With Elected Officials and Library Stakeholders

How can librarians better communicate and advocate to the elected and influential stakeholders in their communities? The phrase “all politics is local” is not necessarily true nowadays. National groups, PACs, and more may be influencing your local library decisions. This webinar will help you communicate both locally and nationally about the value of your library.

This session will discuss:

* Suggestions for handling difficult conversations

* Ideas for communicating and connecting all year with elected officials and stakeholders

* Ideas for events and marketing campaigns to reach elected officials

* Understanding funding sources for libraries

* Case studies of recent library advocacy
