Frontline Staff Reset: Tackling Resolution and Decision-Making Challenges

Occupational stressors for frontline library staff include a high volume of interactions and a constant need to address and resolve issues, while often being unable to make authoritative decisions. Additionally, the job is repetitive and emotionally laborious. You may be micromanaged, with responsibilities that lead to conflict, with limited career advancement. Despite the challenges, the majority of the work is fulfilling. But at what point do challenges become too much? This webinar will discuss when the challenges need to be addressed, how to address them, and how to allow yourself to reset expectations.

From this webinar, you will learn:
•    To identify when expectations are too high, too unrealistic, or too micromanaged
•    To communicate and reinforce workplace expectations
•    To set, enforce, and reinforce boundaries with patrons
•    To develop a team mindset and implement a support system
