The College of Staten Island Library has partnered with three local public library branches in collaborative, cross-promotional opportunities. For many years, CSI has partnered with a public library to promote library card events in September, and most recently, we've collaborated in developing a joint program for Banned and Challenged Books week.
Learn how, through cross-promotions on social media, on the web, and in print, academic and public libraries can support each other in their promotional efforts, raise awareness, and expand their marketing efforts to plan events and programs for a broader audience.
At the end of this presentation, participants will have learned how to:
1. Collaborate in planning and promoting joint library programs that serve both the academic and public library communities
2. Identify opportunities for sustainable, long-term public-academic library collaborations
3. Jointly make the most of promotional channels
4. Understand the importance of partnerships that foster community engagement
